As both the drugs belong to two different classes, namely, NSAIDs (Non-Steroidal Anti Inflammatory Drug) and Dopamine antagonist, respectively, thus it works via dual mechanism.
Firstly it inhibits prostaglandin synthesis by non selectively impeding the COX -1 and COX -2 enzymes. This helps in alleviating inflammation, as prostaglandin is a regulator for inflammation in muscles. Secondly, it gets attached to the dopaminergic receptors without causing any release of the chemical dopamine. This, in turn, eases gastric emptying and abate small bowel transit time.
