 1. What is napra D 500 mg?

Napra D 500 MG Tablet has Domperidone and Naproxen as active elements present in it. This medicine performs its action by obstructing the enzyme known as Cyclooxygenase resulting in the reduced production of Prostaglandins, obstructing the Dopamine receptors. It is used to treat conditions such as Vomiting, Antipyretic, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, Postpartum and postoperatively, Juvenile idiopathic arthritis, Dysmenorrhea, etc.

2. What is the use of napra D?

This medication used to treat, control, and prevent condition such as Acute migraine attacks and Vomiting.

3. What are the side effects of napra D 500 mg?

On using this medicine some side effects like stomach upset, nausea, vomiting, heartburn, drowsiness, headache may occur. 

Serious side effects may include easy bruising or bleeding, painful swallowing, ringing in the ears, signs of kidney problems, mood changes, unusual tiredness, swelling of the ankles, feet and hands, unexplained stiff neck, unexplained weight gain and vision changes.

4. What is the result is interaction of napra D with alcohol?

Whenever you take more than one medicine, or mix it with certain foods or beverages, you"re at risk of a drug interaction. Alcohol use is strictly advised against when you are on this medicine. That is because alcohol increases the tendency of your stomach to bleed, which may be a side effect of this medicine. The bleeding is caused due to the chemical naproxen.

5. What are the results of interaction of napra D with other drugs?

Napra D 500 MG Tablet may interact with other medicines you currently are on. These other medicines include antacids, aluminium hydroxide and oxide, amiodarone, amprenavir, aprepitant, atropine, bisoprolol, erythromycin, fluconazole and ketoconazole.

6. How does napra D works?

Napra D 500 MG Tablet is a combination of Naproxen and Domperidone. This medicine is prescribed for the treatment of migraine attacks. As both the drugs belong to two different classes, namely, NSAIDs (Non-Steroidal Anti Inflammatory Drug) and Dopamine antagonist, respectively, thus it works via dual mechanism.

Firstly it inhibits prostaglandin synthesis by non selectively impeding the COX -1 and COX -2 enzymes. This helps in alleviating inflammation, as prostaglandin is a regulator for inflammation in muscles. Secondly, it gets attached to the dopaminergic receptors without causing any release of the chemical dopamine. This, in turn, eases gastric emptying and abate small bowel transit time.
